Found a document in Deed Records of Cherokee Co NC today that confirms the parentage of
William Crisp who married Miley Barker. I am transcribing this for future generation's as I myself have never seen this. Also am attaching it to my ancestry tree.
Cherokee Co NC Deed's Book A -Page 189.
Know all men by these presents that I Wm CRISP of the County of Cherokee, & State of N. Carolina , have this day nominated constituted and appointed JOHNSON W KING of the same County and State my true & Lawful Attorney in fact to attend to the collection for me all sum or sums that may be or is Due me from the Estate of Wm CRISP Sr, Dec'd , who resided at the time of his death in Edge Combe {Edgecombe Co NC} County in this State of which my father BRAY CRISP was his son and legal heir to Said Estate , who has long since Dec'd. & I in connection with ALEXANDER CRISP , ELIZABETH CRISP , & ISAAC CRISP his lawful children & Justly entitled to all sum or sums that is or may be due the said BRAY CRISP Dec'd. from said Estate Now I do therefore for myself constitute and empower the said King to go unto Edgecombe County, N. Carolina and attend to the collection of said claim or part whatever may be due me from said Estate giving him complete power as far as in me his to manage the whole business for me and in my name as he may think advisable also authorize him to Commence Suit should he think it necessary for the recovery of all such claims or sums as he may think or may be due my from said estate also authorize to make a full and final settlement with the administrators of said estate and to receive from them all sums that is or may be due me and sign my name to all necessary receipts &( ? Acquittances? ) that may be necessary and to act and do in the whole matter as he may think advisable and I do hereby ratify and confirm of his lawful acts that he may do in the ? and ? them to be as binding on me as if I had been personally present and done the same with my own hand In testimony whereof I Wm CRISP Senr grandson of
